One PDF ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and web application at one-pdf.com (the "Service").

We built One PDF with privacy as a core principle. Unlike most online PDF tools, we don't upload your files to any server. Everything happens on your device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Let us be clear about what we do NOT collect:

• Your files: PDF documents, images, and any other files you process remain entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.
• File contents: We cannot see, access, or analyze the content of your documents.
• Personal information: We don't require accounts, registration, email addresses, names, or any personal identifiers to use our Service.
• Cookies for tracking: We don't use cookies to track you across websites or build advertising profiles.

3. Information We DO Collect

We collect minimal, anonymous analytics data to understand how our Service is used and to improve it:

3.1 Analytics (GoatCounter)

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service that:

• Does NOT use cookies
• Does NOT collect personal data
• Does NOT track you across websites
• Is fully GDPR compliant

GoatCounter collects only: page views, referrer information, browser/device type, country (derived from IP, then discarded), and screen size.

This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users. Our analytics are public at onepdf.goatcounter.com.

3.2 Local Storage

Our web application uses your browser's local storage to temporarily store session data, remember your language preference, and remember your theme preference. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

4. How Your Files Are Processed

When you use One PDF:

1. Files are loaded into your browser's memory
2. All processing (merging, reordering, rotating) happens locally using WebAssembly
3. The merged PDF is generated on your device
4. You download the result directly to your computer

At no point do your files travel over the internet. You can verify this by monitoring your browser's network tab.

5. Third-Party Services

We use:

• GoatCounter: Privacy-friendly analytics (see Section 3.1)
• Bunny CDN: Content delivery for fast website loading. Standard server logs are automatically deleted after a short retention period.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or other third-party tracking services.

6. Data Security

Because your files never leave your device, they remain under your control. Our website is served over HTTPS to ensure secure delivery of the application code.

7. Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data rights don't apply in the usual sense. However, you can clear your local storage at any time through your browser settings, use browser extensions to block analytics, and contact us with any privacy questions.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
